Calma colours

Certain colours can help to de-stimulate the mind, reduce stress and promote relaxation. Tonal uniform combinations work well. Uniformity is soothing, and easy for your brain to process. So if you are struggling to choose your vibe, here is a quick guide that could help.

  • Though white or off-white aren’t necessarily relaxing colours, they can make a room feel more open and airy, which will work wonders for your wellbeing.

Darker shades have their benefits too, they reduce stimulation and encourage relaxation in the rooms you need it most.

  • Humans are ‘biophilic’, which means we’re connected to nature. Colours inspired by nature are relaxing. Green, the colour of nature , and the least demanding of all the colours and is very restful on the eye.

  • Blue is another colour connected to nature – seas and skies. So it is highly peaceful and soothing, and can be especially helpful for stress management because it can encourage a powerful sense of calm.

  • Even purples, pinks, and yellows can be peaceful colors when used in soft shades

  • This calming effect isn’t limited to blue and green; sandy and stone shades like taupe and oatmeal work too. Soft neutral tones help us relax.
